“Priestess Practices for the Muse Moon”
ALWAYS FEEDING THE FEMININE FIRST this moon.. that means.. to make a commitment to start each day, even if that is only for 15 minutes... doing something that celebrates the ecstatic body of beingness...rather than moving into a more male Doing mode first thing upon arising… that can be dancing, scribing your dreams, singing, honoring the goddess at your altar, listening in Emptiness and Silence, making love to the self, whatever nurtures and fulfills YOU... this is a SEMINAL aspect of this archetypal work. Surrendering to the feminine self that you are and nurturing her FIRST... not being tricked by the ego into zooming straight to the computer or office, or car or whatever.. .without a thought as to what it is that would actually start your day off in JOY and ECSTASY as a feminine being!!! Believe me, if you do this one practice, your life will shift drammatically...
The central issue of the Muse moon is PLAY. It is our focus this moon to reclaim our ability to reveal creative and spiritual insight and inspiration through spontaneous play. Sound difficult? Do you have a belief system that spirituality has to be serious and somber to be valuable that is up for busting? To actually play joyfully requires that you have contacted and established a relationship with your inner child (the part of you that has been wounded in passage through childhood) AND your Divine Child (the Essential Divine part of you that will never be touched by apparent wounding). If you have not deeply connected with either of these parts within, we will in a guided visualization in this moon. If you have, then it will bring your focus to those parts of self. As a byproduct of this process, you will especially engage with the issues of joy, sensitivity and vulnerability which are essential to stepping into the Muse archetype. The net of all this IS THAT THIS MOON IS ABOUT CONSCIOUSLY RELAXING PERCEPTION, BEING FLUID, INSPIRED, SPONTANEOUS AND REMEMBERING HOW TO HAVE FUN! YES. THAT IS YOUR “HOMEWORK” THIS MOON!!! (Laughter and humor are an essential part of Goddess’ plan for the evolution of our consciousness. Learn from THESE QUALITIES of consciousness this moon!)
Each archetype has a Rite for embodying the energies of the archetype. The Muse brings our focus to unlocking creative expression and noticing what “guardians at the gate” there are to your creativity, to assist you in creating without pre-thought as to outcome or product, just creating for the pure JOY of it! In the Muse, the Rite of the Chrysalis supports this exciting, creative exploration. You will need to read through the rite in the Alchemy and gather materials prior to your rite. We will also be offering this in a guided version during this moon. Finally, you may wish to offer the consecration prayer and sacrament at the end of the rite to fully step into the archetype. The most quintessential distillation of each archetype is found in the two word description on the 13 Moon Oracle game board. To truly understand and embody the archetype, these two principles need to be experienced directly and integrated. This moon, notice how PLAY and INSPIRATION are connected in your personal experience. Make note in your journals.
The sacred tool of this archetype is the WAND. Explore what the energetic potential and purpose of the wand is this moon. You might take delight in going to a craft store, spontaneously choosing some materials and making a magical wand. This can either be of a wood that you resonate with or go out in the woods for example and find a piece that you are attracted to, or to make a whimsical wand out of wire and pipe cleaners and other magical materials and symbols. Hazel and hawthorn trees are associated with this archetype if you wish to make a hazel or hawthorn wand. Remember that what makes your wand magical is the clear intention and vibration with which you make it.
Track the energy and position of the moon on your 13 moon wheel… starting with the dark of the moon/new moon that we have begun this journey on... moving a token around the moon each day to stay in tune with the moon cycle that is being recapitiulated in your bellies!
Sacred Geometry is the most quintessential aspect of the Mystery. Please meditate with the sacred geometry for each archetypal face (the tetrahedron this moon). Let it offer you divine truth and wisdom directly! Remember to create it in image and then spin it in the third eye in meditation to garner its most potent gifts for vision and creativity.
If it is in your joy, please set up a simple altar for Her to begin collecting images and totems for the Muse. A turquoise altar cloth, a butterfly, dolphin, faeries, daisies, whatever your heart resonates with as symbols in this archetype.

FLOWERS and FAERIES are the priestess specialty focus this moon, garnering the wisdom that flowers and faerie folk hold. If you wish to work with or begin exploring flower essences, that may be a place to start to familiarize yourself with the differences in frequencies of flowers. The Muse uses the wisdom of flowers and their vibrational frequencies in her magical practices. However, there is nothing like direct meditation with a flower to hear its song, release its wisdom. Adoration reveals the mystery! Have fun exploring that mystery this moon!
Explore the animal totems of butterfly, hummingbird, and dragonfly and why they are associated with this archetype. If you can have a direct experience with their teachings, do.
The ELEMENTS for this moon are AIR & FIRE. Read the transmission for the elements AIR & FIRE on page 182 in the 13 Moon Oracle or in the appendix in the Alchemy. Notice how air and fire play with and teaches you this moon. Notice the connection with butterfly, hummingbird and dragonfly! Please make time to GO OUTSIDE TO ALLOW AIR & FIRE TO INFORM AND OFFER THEIR GIFTS TO YOU DIRECTLY!!! Ask wind what its healing nature is and how it combines with scent to create balance, rejuvenation and healing.
Work with exploring the crystals aquamarine, turquoise, blue topaz or chrysocolla, to garner their wisdom directly.
Use the scents of vanilla or spice this moon to see what wisdom they have to offer.
Explore learning to work playfully with shadow material that comes up... that is… get out your can of “Resolve” cleaning spray, or Goo Gone, or Magical Sizing Spray and work your shadow over... rather than psychologically processing everything to death!
Try singing your grievances as an opera to someone you are having an issue with. I can tell you, bringing humor into any situation, cuts to the chase and makes us aware of how ridiculous our attached perceptions and reactions actually are! Try vulnerably saying “Ouch” when you are activated by shadow, rather than lashing out in reaction. Be creative and novel as to how you work with shadow in the Muse.
***THIS MOON, AS THE MUSE THAT YOU ARE (or are becoming), YOU ARE CHALLENGED TO DO SOMETHING TOTALLY SPONTANEOUS, OUTRAGEOUS, OUT OF NORMAL IDENTIFICATION AND “CHARACTER”!!!

Practice recognizing all money as PLAY money... dye or color the blessed money you wish to hand out to others in a magical way, holding the intention, as you do, of everyone living in an unlimited reality! (Read Busting Loose from the Money Game, if you want an unlimited perception of how to change any limited views you may hold about money).
Make an intention to SEE/FEEL/EXPERIENCE faerie energy this moon. ***Clue: Become utterly present with flowers because your adoring presence is a direct call to the faeries! Here is a simple evocation to call the faeries. “Come out from your faerie bower. Come upon this golden hour. Come and play we beg you please. Faeries dancing on the breeze!” (From the wonderful movie “Fairytale: A true Story.” )

I have done it, and it is a VERY exciting and revelatory focus of attention for this moon! Diad Questions to share with a Priestess Ally:
Use this as a practice time to allow these answers to emerge from the womb of silence and the heart temple of your essence, rather than from the past reservoirs of the ego mind. Don’t be attached to words coming up, perhaps only an image or metaphor will arise. Allow the Mystery to speak in its own way. Before you begin, please sit in silence to establish essence contact in Source and resonance with each other. Given adequate time, if nothing emerges from the silence of essence, let the question go rather than answering from ego and what you have known from the past.
